The Troop is currently celebrating its 30th year of Countinuous service to the Church of St. Mark, and the Fallston Community. The Troop was originally established in the early 1970's, but due to the lack of participation, the Troop disbanded. In 1981, Troop 801 was re-chartered at the Church of St. Mark and has grown to it's current size of approximately 120 Scouts and 30 registered adult leaders, which makes the Troop one of the largest active troops in the Baltimore Area Council. The Troop maintains an active presence within the District and in the Council by attending camporees and other events, The Troop also boasts that it has over 65 members that have attained the highest rank of Scouting, that of the Eagle Scout.
On average the Troop goes on ten weekend camp outs per year, and attends a week long Summer Camp, usually the last week in June. Troop 801 also has crews going to one of the BSA High Adventure bases. each year, or they go one other extended camping events.
