Since Troop 801 was founded, there have been many youth that have attained the highest rank in Boy Scouts, that of Eagle Scout. In order for a youth the reach the Rank of Eagle Scout, they must first complete specific rank advancement requirements for the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class. Upon reaching the rank of First Class Scout, the youth then needs to complete a total of 6 Merit Badges, 4 of which must be from the Eagle Required list, and fill a Leadership position in the Troop for 4 months and complete 6 hours of service projects to reach the rank of Star Scout. As a Star Scout, the youth must earn 5 additional Merit Badges, 3 of which are Eagle required, fulfill a leadership position in the Troop for 6 months and complete another 6 hours of service projects to reach the rank of Life Scout. As a Life Scout the youth earn an additional 10 Merit Badges, 5 of which must be Eagle required for a total of 21 Merit Badges. While a life Scout the youth must plan, develop and give leadership to others in a service project helpful to the community.
