News from Parent Meeting Dues/Youth Protection/Stand Training

posted Oct 23, 2011 12:26 PM by Tom Glassman

Hello Troop 801,

If you were not at this past Thursday's parent meeting I want to let you know about an important document we reviewed and distributed to all parents.

We will be re-chartering soon and included in this e-mail is a form which should accompany your dues for the 2011/2012 Scout year.  This year all parents are required to have Youth Protection training and STAND training in order to turn in their dues.  Why is this necessary?  If you have any contact with the boys including driving to or from camping trips, you are required to have this online training.  It takes about 30 minutes for Youth Protection and a little over an hour for STAND.  I know it's not fun, but get it over with and print 2 copies of the certificates (one to turn in with your dues form and one to keep in case of an oversight).  If you had training at the Cub scout level you need to get a copy of your certificate for our records.  The next 3 weeks we will be collecting dues and page 2 of this attached form.

Please see attachments for links to websites.  You can do it.  If you can't remember if your training has expired (2 years for Youth Protection and 3 years for STAND) take a look at the second attachment to see all dates. E-mail me with any problems at Barbsolomon@msn.com

Thank You,

Barb

Parents needed on the Committee

posted Aug 13, 2011 3:54 PM by Tom Glassman

Currently, there are several positions on the Troop Committee that need to be filled.  We are looking for parents that are interested in supporting their son's troop.  These positions are to assist the current Sub-Committee Chairpersons.  If anyone is interested, you may contact the Committee Chair or Vice-Chair to fill the vacancy.

Activities Committee -   Responsibilities are to help with making reservations for the Troop outings, create permission slips and get them to the webmaster for posting on the website, collect permission slips and money for trips, create driver lists, and complete the BSA Tour Plan and submit it to Council for approval.

Equipment Committee - Responsibilities are to assist in maintaining, repairing, inventorying, and purchasing the troops equipment.  This requires at least 2 additional adults since 2 deep leadership is always required, and this adults need to be in the shed when the youth sign in/out troop gear for
